Several indexes to microfilm of census information were done as volunteer projects directed by the local National Park Service office. We have partial print indexes for area counties and the City of Fredericksburg in our Virginiana Room. We have scanned those for Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania and offer that material here in searchable form. Keep in mind that if you do not find the name you are looking for you might want to peruse the microfilm, an exact reproduction of original census rolls.

The page numbers referenced in the indexes refer to the actual page number from the original census book. In the microfilm of the corresponding census year, you will note the page number generally in the upper outside corner of the microfilmed page. Microfilm rolls are available in the Virginiana Room at Headquarters.
